We Are Who We Are

We Are Who We Are.

We’re here to share about our farm, what we do, and why we do it.  We’re here to give a glimpse into our personal life so you can relate.  We’re here to have some fun.  But did you know? There’s a lot of us farmers here on the world wide web… and we all do things a little differently.

I’ve been mulling over a podcast I listened to a few weeks ago with @sharkeyfarms (Shark Farmer Podcast) and @tdfhonestfarming (Derrick Josi).  They brought up something that really resonated with me and is part of a shift I’m making here as I share.

If you’ve been on a farm or met a farmer, that is ONE farmer.  I’m not here to speak for every farmer, because we are all SO different in the way we approach each aspect.  There are lots of different ways to do things.

We don’t do everything right and we’ll admit that we’re learning all the time…that’s what makes it great.  We aren’t going to cater to everyone, we’re here to be unapologetically us.

So, if you see me holding a crappy cardboard sign with some sharpied words across it, you’ll know I’m sharing something specific about our farm, and why we do it in the caption.

It doesn’t matter if you have 5 acres or 50,000 acres.  If you have a story to tell. Tell it.  We’re not here to speak for everyone and all of our voices matter.
